Jenny the creative
Created by Sue 2 years ago
Sarah spoke in her tribute to Jenny about her leaf-gathering expeditions to Hyde Park. Here's the proof! This photos was taken in 1979, and after a lovely walk, kicking through the piles of crisp leaves, we all headed back to our rooms in Goldsmid Hall, where Jenny made a collage from her trophies. She was always working on some creative project or another, and even recently came up with a very inventive way to mend an old but much-loved jumper of mine, digging in her scraps box to find the right colour. I think her lovely, unique handwriting was a reflection of this artistic side to her nature, and I'm glad I have samples of it still. I'll always remember her as she is in this photo: effortlessly elegant in a fine kilt, russet-blonde hair blending in with the autumnal surroundings, striding purposefully onwards . . . If there's a heaven, we can rest assured Jenny will be there, redesigning it so it's looking its absolute best when the rest of us get there.
